FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions About Our Trainings

Impact Business Design is a practice-oriented framework that helps organizations become future-ready – acting economically successful, ecologically sustainable, and socially responsible. It was developed to systematically guide companies through transformation processes that strengthen not only their economic performance but also their contribution to society and the environment.

The model is based on an integral, systemic approach that combines classical management methods with insights from psychology, organizational development, and sustainability. It is not only about developing new strategies or business models, but about fostering a profound shift in awareness: How do people in organizations think, feel, and act – and how can this behavior be further developed in the spirit of a regenerative economy?

Successful participation in the training requires thorough preparation. Please take time in advance for the following steps:

  • Read the Impact Business Design Playbook.

  • Complete the two Profile Dynamics analyses – this will take about 70–90 minutes in total.

Afterwards, you will receive two individual reports:

  • one report on your personal profile, and

  • one report on the Impact Profiler.

These preparatory steps are mandatory, as they form the basis for our compact and effective Impact Business Design Training format.

You can order the book here.
Access to the online analyses will be provided after successful registration.

The training is aimed at people who want to drive change within their organizations – regardless of hierarchy or function. Whether in strategy, sustainability, innovation, HR, marketing, communications, sales, or executive management: anyone who wants to actively shape the future, take responsibility, and enable sustainable business for generations will find the right place here.

The Impact Business Design Training is particularly suitable for change managers, CSR and sustainability officers, innovation managers, and leaders who want to think systemically and act effectively.

You complete the training with a certification as an Impact Design Master.

This qualifies you to apply the Impact Business Design Framework, including all related tools and templates, effectively – for example, in developing and supporting transformation processes within organizations.

If you do not yet have a Profile Dynamics certification, you can optionally obtain it afterwards through our partner.

Unlike classical, linear change approaches, Impact Business Design integrates systemic thinking and an integral perspective. It focuses on the conscious development of patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting, and is grounded in psychological foundations such as PSI theory, Spiral Dynamics, and the Adaptive Cycle. Instead of putting “Profit First,” the guiding principle is “Impact First” – aiming to combine economic success with social and ecological responsibility.

The training covers the three phases of the Impact Business Design Framework – Transparency, Transcendence, and Immanence – and introduces the Impact Business Oscillogram, a model for systemic analysis at the macro, meso, and micro levels. It demonstrates how to effectively use tools such as the Impact Profiler, the Impact Canvas, the Gap Analysis, and Stakeholder Mapping. The Impact Business Design Training is complemented by methods for strategy development, purpose work, vision building, and sustainable transformation. Practical templates – for example, in the digital whiteboard “Impact Business Architect” – support direct application within your own organizational context.

Participants identify key tensions between the current state and the desired future state and derive effective impact measures from them. They reflect on their organization’s impact with regard to people, planet, and profit, and design transformation processes that are effective, motivating, and participatory. In this way, they increase their organization’s future readiness and resilience, while creating a solid foundation for sustainable change.

The training uses a variety of practical tools. The Impact Profiler helps to typify organizational thinking patterns, while the Impact Business Canvas enables structured analysis and design. The Impact Business Design Training is complemented by the Impact Architect Toolbox – a Miro board with templates for all 13 steps of the framework. In addition, methods such as the WOOP model, the Stakeholder Journey Map, and the Impact Matrix are applied to effectively support transformation processes.

Yes, the training is based on scientifically grounded models and theories. It draws on Spiral Dynamics by Graves and Beck, Julius Kuhl’s PSI theory, and the Adaptive Cycle from resilience research by Buzz Holling. The approach is further enriched by concepts such as John Elkington’s Triple Bottom Line, Kate Raworth’s Donut Economy, as well as insights from systemic organizational development by Kurt Lewin, Peter Kruse, and Albert Bandura.
